  2. Table of Contents and Author List for Structured-Population Models in Marine, Terrestrial, and Freshwater Systems, edited by Shripad Tuljapurkar and Hal Caswell.

This book was reviewed by Mary V. Price in the June 1998 edition of Ecology where it was said to be a "must-read."  Price was impressed by the uniform and explanatory nature of the book, finding that it contained "a pragmatic emphasis on why modeling is worthwhile and how to go about doing it."  Although Price does advise a general review of calculus and matrix algebra, she states that the "book is written primarily for the non-mathematicians among us who are willing to entertain the possibility that mathematical models can be useful, but who would have about as good an idea how to construct a transmogrifier as to construct and use a population model."
